Biography
Lloyd Walker
Lloyd Emmerton Walker was born September 29, 1919, in Stratford, Perth County, Ontario to parents Frank Samuel and Ray Winnifred (Rollinson) Walker. He was one of four children, with older sisters Clarice Emma and Margaret Winifred Walker and younger brother John Donald Walker.
After the start of WWII, Lloyd enlisted as a Private with the Royal Canadian Engineers, serving from 1943 to 1945. During his service, Private Walker was wounded in action, though recovered and returned to active service. He was discharged upon demobilization in 1945.
After returning to civil live, he moved back to Stratford. He began working at the CNR before moving onto the Department of Highways where he worked as a district engineer. Lloyd married Helen Audrey Brunkard in 1953. Together, they had two children, William Lloyd and Mary Ray Walker. Lloyd eventually became a civil engineer and was involved in the construction of the 401.
He passed on December 23, 1986, and was buried at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford.
